The Souderton Business Improvement District is seeking reauthorization for 2021-2025. We'd just like to thank you all for your support as we move through the reauthorization process.  Since 2016, the Souderton BID, a non-profit, has been working alongside property owners within the Borough of Souderton and its commercial district.  Providing marketing, networking, beautification, community engagement, collaboration, and economic development for Souderton, it is dedicated to supporting our local businesses. The Borough Council of Souderton has given their full support to our Preliminary Plan for Reauthorization. *All properties were notified by letter if they are to be included in the BID. If you aren't sure, refer to last chart on our Preliminary Plan or call to find out. 215-723-6627 ext101

Starting in 2021, we will use the Souderton Borough as the boundaries for the Souderton BID. All Commercial or Industrial properties in the Borough with zoning C1, C2, LI, GA, MUR, R1, R2, or R3 are included. Properties designated Class R (Residential) and zoned C1 or C2 are also included because commercial use is possible, especially in the core commercial business district. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact us.

Reauthorizing for the next five years will give us the opportunity to continue to move towards our goal of strong and steady economic development for our community. Moving forward we are increasing our geographic boundaries to include the entire Borough of Souderton, however, we are not increasing the assessment rate. Also, the BID and Souderton Telford Main Streets will merge to form one new organization called Souderton Connects. Merging will help bring a clarity and focus, better communication overall, as well as ensuring accountability from all parties involved. Looking to the future, the Souderton Connects website is scheduled to launch next month and our new website is geared to be everyone’s go-to site for all things Souderton. The most exciting news is our partnership with En Route Marketing and our plans to hire a dedicated Economic Development Coordinator.

VOTING

REMEMBER: If you are in favor of the BID reauthorization, you don't need to do anything. We thank you for your support!

The method of voting to re-authorize the BID is established by the Commonwealth.  The Souderton BID is not able to change what the Commonwealth has set forth. BID property owners who wish to cast a 'no' vote for BID re-authorization can mail or drop off a letter at the Souderton Borough office (31 W. Summit St., Souderton, PA, 18964). The letter should be addressed to: 'Souderton Borough Council' with 'Attention: Mike Coll' added. The letter should specify the name of the BID property owner(s), the property(ies) they own, and a brief sentence expressing a 'no' vote towards BID reauthorization. Please include a phone number and email address. The letter should be signed by all owners of the property. Please note that if multiple properties are owned, the letter should list the associated properties for which a 'no' vote is being cast. Letters must be received in the Souderton Borough office by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

We have learned that inaccurate information about the benefits of reauthorizing the BID has been given out. We want people to vote as they feel inclined but believe it's critical that they have accurate information. Upon learning first-hand how the BID plans to support Souderton businesses over the next 5 years, some BID members have retracted the 'no' vote by calling Mike Coll of Souderton Borough at 215-723-4371. If you think you may have received inaccurate information or just want to make sure you have all the facts, we encourage you to call Liz Peitzman, BID Coordinator, at 215-723-6627 ext101 or Margaret Zglinicki, BID chairperson, at 215-527-2396. We're here to help!
